Legal Separation

Mark Godbey & Associates

Serving  the communities of Batavia, Milford, Hamilton, Mason, Lebanon, West Chester, Amelia, Loveland, and Fairfield in Hamilton, Butler, Clermont and Warren counties, Ohio.

According to FindLaw.com,  "legal separation results when the parties separate and a court rules on the division of property, alimony, child support, custody and visitation -- but does not grant a divorce. The money awarded for support of the spouse and children under these circumstances is often called separate maintenance (as opposed to alimony and child support)." Often, a legal separation occurs prior to a divorce, but it can also be used instead of divorce when the parties have religious, social or other objections to termination of a marriage. We will be happy to answer your questions related to separation.
